4am on Wednesday morning we were woke by thunder. We then saw the lightning that invariably goes with it.
Judging by the delay between light & sound the eye was about 10Km away, probably over the sea. but it was getting closer.
Our main concern was that it would wake Dylan and frighten him, we needn’t have woerried, he slept right through it.
However, a friend of mine, Johanna, a lass I worked with on the Julian Kerridge’s All Day Breakfast film last year (and sister of near neighbour and friend, Nicola (friend of my oldest mate)- it’s complicated), had a rather more fearful experience of the thunder storm…
Blackpool house hit by lightning
Fire crews had to be called after a house in Blackpool was struck by lightning in the early hours today.
The drama unfolded at just after 4am when the whole of the Fylde coast was battered by torrential rain and storms.
Firefighters were called to the house on Cornwall Avenue, North Shore, where lightning had caused a fire in the roof space. Continue reading this item…
