Like most people these days we watch films on tape & DVD. Some folk possess none and rent loads, others just do the cinema, or watch a film once and that’s it.
We rarely go to the cinema, and haven’t done so since Dylan came along because, a) we don’t want to leave him with anyone just yet, and b) for the cost of a couple to hit the cinema one could buy/rent several films.
However, we don’t rent either.
Being a natural hoarder I like to have them on the shelf, if a films worth watching more than once it makes sense to own a copy, so we buy. We usually get them from the sales at HMV, Amazon, etc., spending £2.99 (free delivery 
) on a film means for the equivalent cost of one trip to the flicks we can watch half a dozen film – with extras – that’s not taking into account the popcorn!
Have to say I love the extras on DVDs, so much more value than VHS (although I did get the box set of Gilliam’s 12 Monkeys which had a making of tape). However, SWMBO isn’t innerested in the extras – but she has be known to sit through a couple of ‘em
