Took Stephen to the airport. Had to be there by 08.10 for his flight one hour later. 15 minutes free parking, which wasn’t too distressing. There’s also a £10 Airport Development Charge (tax) made against all passenger departing via Blackpool International, for which there are machines in the terminal to pay and get a ‘ticket’ which has to be presented when going through the departure gate.

Simple enough machine, touch screen, number of adult/child passenger, pay cash/card, job done. I’m just about to pay the bloody thing and this suited gimp in the employ of the airport comes across and gets it all arse about face, saying “Is he under 15?” pointing to Stephen, who’s 20 FFS!
