YES!
Charlie Brooker is worth the licence fee on his own. Since the end of CB’s Screenwipe I’ve had to rely on my own meandering observations to entertain me. And, since the BBC’s announcement that presenters and on-screen personalities will not be allowed to produce their own shows in future cast a dark shadow of doubt as to whether CB would be allowed to return to our screens.
Thankfully either Newswipe was already commissioned, and allowed to proceed, CB has made arrangement to have the show produced for him, or the BBC have decided against their knee-jerk, reactionary policy (all as a result of the ‘media’ furore over Sachs-gate, and all of it BS IMO).
Anyhoo, I digress. Newswipe hit the nail on the head, pushed all the right buttons, floated my boat, etc., etc. CB is younger than me, but clearly sees the world through similar dark lenses as I do.
