Charlie BrookerI have to confess I came late to Charlie Brooker‘s Screenwipe, and whilst a topical show I truly hope they are available on DVD some time soon (they already be, I haven’t looked, yet).

Anyhoo, suffice it to say I love this show. CB is of a similar mind to me sen when it comes to TV. Whilst what I hear him saying merely echoes that which I’ve said myself makes him all the more enjoyable, he confirms my own thoughts, validates my vindictive vocalisations, and there’s comfort to be head in that. Brave ‘Babylon’ Bullshit

Police minister Vernon Coaker has apologised for telling Parliament that 70 officers were injured dealing with protests at Kingsnorth power station.

His comments came after it was revealed that injuries sustained during policing at the Climate Camp in August included insect stings and heat exhaustion.

There were only 12 reportable injuries, according to a Freedom of Information (FoI) request by the Liberal Democrats.

More than 1,000 officers were involved in policing the event near Hoo in Kent.

Terrorism: Police publish new guidance

Newly revised government guidance, which instructs police on their Stop and Search powers under the Terrorism Act 2000, has now been published.

The document – which contains a section on dealing with photographers – followed public concern that Section 44 of the Act was being abused.

The Practice Advice on Stop and Search in Relation to Terrorism was drawn up by the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA), in conjunction with the Home Office and Association of Chief Police Officers.
